Reviews Marmot Quasar Nova Down Jacket - Womens

Warm and lightweight jacket, it has a good quality construction, durability, and the toll is not high.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Warm
  • Durability

Before starting this review I must mention I'1000 from Chile and my main language is Spanish, so feel free to correct my English and ask me for a amend explanation if is necessary.

I bought this down jacket three years agone, so this is non the concluding version of the Marmot Quasar Jacket. Anyway I will compare both describing their pros and cons.

The features of my jacket are:

  • 800 fill goose down
  • Pertex quantum shield
  • 9.8 oz. (280 grs)

The new version has improved the post-obit features:

  • Fill: 850+ fill goose downwardly
  • Fit: Included Marmot's Angel-Wing Movement (engineering science that keep the jacket staying in place, allowing the user to motility their shoulders and artillery in a full range).
  • Weight: It is lighter 8.four oz. (238 grs).

The shell probably has been improved, which is fabricated with 10-denier Pertex Quantum nylon, known every bit 1 of the lightest down-proof fabric, also information technology has a DWR treatment from my version and a skillful chafe resistance.

Another feature that changed is the mode to pack the jacket. My version packs downwardly in the zippered right paw pocket and the new one is packed in the zippered chest pocket, probably thinner due to the 850 fill compression property.

I'm not sure only I call up it keeps the rest of the features similar the regular fit, the same pockets, elastic non-adjustable cuffs on the sleeves, and an rubberband adjustable cord at the hem.

Now I'm going to describe some features of my jacket:

Fit: As I mentioned it has a regular fit. It volition get a small class of "V" after adjusting the cord at the hem, staying near your body keeping you warm and permitting the use of one layer nether this. In my case I usually clothing a tee shirt or long sleeves under this jacket, which is enough for cold days considering an urban use. For camping and inactive situations in the mountain is possible to habiliment a fleece under this and it is not very thick, so is possible to wear a 3rd layer. For people who like hooded jackets it has this version.

Construction & Durability: During those three years I have noted it has a adept quality structure losing just a modest role of the make full trough the nylon shell. I got a minor hole at the end of the sleeve because someone put his cigarette there, but information technology is non related with the quality of the jacket.

I have done it one time with Nikwax Down Wash. The jacket did not lose its properties and it is still puffy like the first day.

Weight: I think this is one of their all-time features. The new version weighs just 8.iv oz. which is super lightweight considering the warmth that provides and if you want to compare it with other jackets it is lighter than most of them. In addition this packs down really small.

Zippers: All of them comes from YKK and each one has a minor zipper pull that makes it easier to use them while wearing gloves. The chief zipper is backed past a narrow typhoon-stopping strip.

After describing the pros I will mention some cons of this jacket, but to exist honest there is no one that I consider important, probably because I accept had just one downwardly jacket and I am not an expert in this field.

I think this is the most of import information about this jacket, I tried to do my best.

Thank you for give me the possibility to participate in this amazing forum.
